Profile of Female Heads of Household in Brazil
This publication presents indicators which reveal the profile of female heads of household, based on the results of Demographic Census 2000.
It includes the geographic and urban and rural distribution of the universe of female heads of household, as well as their level of schooling and income and age groups. It also brings information about women who live alone, indicators relative to children in infancy who are under the responsibility of women, and comparative data of the Demographic Censuses of 1991 and 2000.
These promote the knowledge about the life conditions of women and of their position in the Brazilian society.
